New look for Errol Douglas salon

The Errol Douglas salon in Motcomb Street will soon have a stylish new interior after it undergoes a makeover.

Having opened for business in 1998, the salon has become one of the most respected in London, while Errol has established himself as a top celebrity hairstylist. Its dÈcor, however, has failed to evolve with the brand, and so it is with great excitement that Errol and his team announce their refurbishment plans.

“It will be amazing. When the salon opens there will be none better,” he says. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the faces of clients who have been with me since day one – they’ll be blown away!”

The refurbishment has been meticulously planned so that the salon can remain open while the work is being carried out during June and July.

Errol Douglas is known for being both upmarket and avant-garde, and the new interior will reflect the two sides of the brand.

In the reception area, a collection of photographs entitled the ‘Royal Collection’ will set the tone with its images of Belgravia inspired by British heritage, while an impressive fireplace and cabinets will complete the ‘couture house’ look.

The waiting area will contain a large circular table that will enable clients to sit in comfort while they enjoy a drink or read a magazine, shielded from other clients by lush flower displays and a low-level lighting centrepiece.

To create a contrast with the front-of-house area, the cutting room dÈcor will be light and airy, with a minimalist feel that will be complemented by Errol’s latest Rankin photographic collection.

Speaking about his decision to update the salon interior, Errol says: “Motcomb Street has to be one of the prettiest and most upmarket retail streets in the world, and we’re privileged to be here. It’s long overdue that the inside of the salon is refurbished to match its surroundings.”

The refurbishment comes at a time when Errol is considering opening branches in both New York and Paris.

Closer to home, as part of ‘Belgravia in Bloom’, he will be creating a high-fashion hair design inspired by the Chelsea Flower Show. Although the final design is still a work in progress, the plan is to create a flower-filled and modern-day Marie Antoinette look that will hopefully be complemented by a couture gown by Bruce Oldfield.
