Errol Douglas and his Belgravia salon team are celebrating this week after winning London Hairdresser of the Year at the 2011 London Lifestyle Awards.

The celebrity hairdresser, famous for his fusion of European and Afro styling, has been nominated a total of 13 times and has won several of the world’s most coveted hairdressing awards. He even has an MBE for services to hairdressing.

He said: “I’m over the moon! These awards are amazing. I’ve always said that London is the heart of Europe and this event brings together some of the capital’s best businesses and incredible individuals.”

The awards took in 4,235 separate nominated companies, people and industry contacts in 18 categories. Among them were the Green Contribution to London award, given to the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme; the award for Outstanding Contribution to London, given to entrepreneur and philanthropist Christopher Moran for his wide range of charity work; and London Personality of the Year, which went to Catherine Monk, celebrity liaison manager for the Variety Club children’s charity.

This year, the Errol Douglas salon underwent a refurbishment and now features statement period pieces and a stunning photography collection inspired by Belgravia’s history. Customers can enjoy the ultimate pampering experience with an Ariane Poole make-up bar, nail bar and in-house catering service.
