Bikers in Belgravia
The Hairy Bikers roared into Belgravia recently to film a television programme with a local resident
The pilous pair delighted passers-by as they parked their motorbikes near Eaton Square, while cars slowed down and taxi drivers honked their horns.
The chefs were filming scenes for their Christmas special with etiquette expert and events planner Liz Brewer that will see them organise a Christmas party for friends and colleagues.
Brewer advised the pair on the duties of a host and the correct way to introduce people to each other at a party, as well as showing them how to make Christmas crackers and wrap presents.
“Working with the Bikers was hysterical – it was the funniest filming I’ve ever done,” said Brewer. “Dave and Si really are great guys. They are like two cuddly teddy bears and are just such fun to work with.”
Before becoming one half of the Hairy Bikers, Dave Myers was a make-up artist on shows including 'Spooks' and 'Prime Suspect', where he worked with Helen Mirren. He met former location manager Si King on the set of a Catherine Cookson TV drama and the two decided to turn their love of bikes, food and banter into a career. Their first TV show aired on the BBC in 2005.
Following a number of television programmes and cookbooks, the pair have become unlikely sex symbols. One blogger wrote: “Any man who can provide a Cornish pasty recipe as good as the one I tried yesterday is worth lusting over.”
Look out for 'The Hairy Bikers’ Christmas Special' on BBC1 in December.
