Living City award winners
Grosvenor was one of the sponsors of the Living City Lecture and Awards, held on 20 January 2011 at Paddington Academy.
The Living City awards, run by Westminster City Council, celebrate people who make a real difference in their communities. The proceedings began with a lecture by Nick Hurd MP, Minister for Civil Society, about the government’s Big Society vision and how it can be achieved in real communities.
He then joined Councillor Steve Summers, Cabinet member for Community Services, and sponsors from Westminster Metropolitan Police, NHS Westminster, City of Westminster College, Grosvenor, NWEC and Vertex to announce the winners of the Living City Awards 2010.
Grosvenor was the sponsor of the ‘Living City: working in partnership’ category, which celebrates those who combine their own individual effort with the expertise and resources of businesses and other organisations to achieve new or improved services in their area.
The winner was Rolana Molevicute, a volunteer with the Met Police Volunteer Programme who helps with much of the administration for the Police Cadets in Westminster. She has also assisted with the Met’s Deaf Link scheme, which builds partnerships between the deaf community and the police. The runners-up were Pauline Broomhead and PC Cey Uzun.
