Introducing Pimlico Road Design District

Brand new to London Design Festival 2011 is the Pimlico Road Design District, London’s most stylish design destination.

Pimlico Road Design District joins the London Design Festival

The sole addition to this year’s Festival, Pimlico Road will showcase award-winning design talent from across the street as well as supporting emerging design talent.

Catherine Stevenson, Director, South Belgravia at Grosvenor, who manage Pimlico Road said:

"Grosvenor is very proud to be sponsoring the Pimlico Road Design District in its inaugural year. The district is home to some of the most stylish design and home wares in London and fits perfectly with the London Design Festival's desire to showcase the best of the UK's creative community."

Conveniently situated near the Saatchi Gallery at Sloane Square, Pimlico Road is home to London’s most eclectic mix of interior design shops, independent antique dealers and galleries. To showcase Pimlico Road’s diversity, Editor-in-Chief of Wallpaper* Magazine Tony Chambers will be making his own curatorial design edit, selecting stand-out pieces that will be proudly displayed during London Design Festival.

Showroom exhibitions include a pop-up gallery from emerging designer Emily Johnson at Jamb, the celebration of ten years of hyperrealist art at pioneering Plus One Gallery and the official launch of interior and furniture designers Coote & Bernardi’s flagship store.

Pimlico Road is a great destination to discover diverse designers and soak in the atmosphere of Orange Square - which will be home to a unique design installation – or one of several fine eateries, including Daylesford Organic, The Orange and award-winning British chocolatier William Curley, where you can indulge your sweet-tooth.

The Pimlico Road Design District open evening will be on Thursday 22 from 6pm-8pm

A pocket-sized map will be printed to guide visitors around the district, available to pick up from Pimlico Road retailers.

Nearest tube station: Sloane Square/Victoria
