October brings a range of foodie offerings from Mayfair’s gourmet merchant
The Mount Street Deli has long been a favourite for its delectable foods, from sandwiches to specials from its sister restaurant, the Ivy. As the nights draw in, it has launched a programme of events and offers for fans of good food. Here’s our pick of the best.
- An evening with Bompas & Parr – 10 October, 6pm
Meet jelly monger Sam Bompas at the Mount Street Deli and learn about the fantastical world of Bompas & Parr. Bompas, along with his fellow food artisan, Harry Parr, have collaborated with Lord Foster and Heston Blumenthal to design jellies, flooded a Grade I listed building with four tonnes of alcoholic punch that visitors boated across before drinking, created a breathable cloud of gin and tonic and built a chocolate waterfall. At the event on 10 October, you can find out more about what they do and how they do it, and taste some of their jelly creations.

Got friends coming over, but stuck for what to cook? The Mount Street Deli has just launched a range of dinner party dishes that are perfect for fuss-free entertaining. They include favourites from the deli’s sister restaurants, such as J Sheekey’s fish pie and the Ivy’s shepherd’s pie.
The dishes, which feed six, cost £55 and come in a white ovenproof dish. Delivery is free within W1 and St James’s, or you can collect them in person from the deli. To order, call 020 7499 6843. Please allow 48 hours’ notice.

Christmas will be here sooner than you think. Why not think ahead and treat a loved one with a gourmet hamper from the Mount Street Deli? It costs £150 and includes all the produce you need to create a special Christmas feast, including Cropwell Bishop Stilton, Annabel’s flatbreads, apple chutney, a Christmas pudding, Scott’s truffles, and a half bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne and Allain Millant peach nectar to create the perfect Bellini.
