Duke Street

Leading off the western end of Oxford Street towards Grosvenor Square,
Duke Street draws you away from the commotion of central London,
and – in just a few steps – into the calmer and more composed world of Mayfair.
Shopping here is a leisurely and varied experience: admire a Dieter Rams chair at Vitsoe, pick up some homeopathic medicine at the 150-year-old Nelsons pharmacy or treat yourself to an oak bark leather satchel from The Merchant Fox. One of the newest additions to Duke Street is the menswear boutique Rake, which adds a dash of roguish charm to its expertly cut blazers.

For a moment’s respite from shopping, head to the top of the old Duke Street electricity substation, where C Stanley Peach's Italianate Brown Hart Gardens has been recently refurbished and reopened, featuring the light-filled Garden Café by Benugo.
