Immediately south-west of Hyde Park Corner, Belgrave Square Garden is Belgravia’s green and leafy centrepiece, a 4.5-acre private garden that was designed by George Basevi and first planted by Thomas Cubitt in 1826.

Now restored to its 1867 layout, it features large plane trees, some dating back to the original planting, pretty wisteria-covered pergolas, rose bushes, a tennis court and a play area for children. Belgrave Square Garden, like much of Belgravia, is committed to public art and often features temporary art installations. A permanent statue of Sir Robert Grosvenor by Jonathan Wylder is located just outside the garden.

Who is allowed to use the garden?
Anyone who resides within the Grosvenor Estate of Belgravia may apply for membership to access the garden.

How much does it cost to have a key for the garden?
The membership fee is currently £307 per annum for single/couples and £472.00 for families. In addition, there is an initial administration charge of £66 and a refundable key deposit £62 for new members. The annual charge is calculated pro rata. Please contact us for an application from. You will need to provide proof of residency documentation. The cost for an additional or replacement key is £74. Direct residents of Belgrave Square are not required to pay garden membership fees.

Can I take my dog into the garden?
Dogs are permitted inside the Outer Garden. All dogs must be registered with Grosvenor. There is initial registration fee of £33 and an annual charge of £35 per dog. Dogs must wear their Grosvenor tag at all times whilst inside the garden.

Can I have a party in the garden? Is there a charge?
We welcome appropriate parties to Belgrave Square, however there are certain regulations for having a party. The rules and conditions are available for download at the bottom of this page. Residents and members should contact us to apply for a party. There is a £200 charge for members to use the garden for a party.

Can I use the tennis court? Is there a charge?
The tennis court is available for use by garden members only. There is an additional annual charge for use. Please note that due to high demand there is currently a long waiting list for tennis membership. The rules, conditions and how to apply for access to the tennis court are available for download at the bottom of this page.

How do I make a booking for the tennis court?
Court sessions can be requested using our online booking platform. A link to which can be found at the bottom at the bottom of this page. You will need to sign in at the top-right hand corner using your unique login details. Please contact us if you have forgotten your details.
